New skills to add to my set…PICKING UP STITCHES! Daily Greenhorn Tip # 6

Hooray!  Today, Edi at Knit Las Vegas showed me how to pick up stitches along the selvedge edge of my work.  It was a success!  One tip for picking up a certian number of stitches (in my case, 68) divide the edge of the work that will be used for picking up stitches evenly.  I divided mine into four sections using stitch markers (you could also use little pieces of stray yarn) and picked up 17 stitches in each section.  Much easier.  Here is what this looks like with a curved edge:
