On a roll…

Last night, I casted on to the mister’s Christmas ‘Broken Rib Cardigan’ by Debbie Bliss.  I had been out most of the evening at Wooly Wonders, coveting some gorgeous new yarn, but I was excited to get home and start a new project.  I had just finished my Francisca Hat the day before (SUPER cozy-seriously tempted to sleep in it).

So, I needed my next fix.  Enter, the Broken Rib Cardigan.  The pattern calls for ‘Como’ by Debbie Bliss, but that would have ended up running me close to $200!  I needed to substitute.  Fortunately, Patons makes a great roving yarn that is 100% pure new wool (no cashmere infusion, but beggars can’t be choosers).  The yarn works up to the same gauge with minor tweaking, and looks great!

The fabric is so lovely and light that it will make for a great autumn to spring sweater.  I’m also really excited to add the leather buttons!  So classy.  Ahhh, the simple things that make us smile.
I’ve started storing all of my ‘in progress’ projects in plastic zipper bags.  Makes things very easy!
