Hello again! Hope the week is winding down nicely for you.
It’s my son’s one year birthday this Saturday so I have little sweet nothings and wispy trails of motherly happy-sadness winding through my mind and it’s giving me much to think about. I can’t believe it’s already February again. The time has flown and when I think that my little bundle is going to just keep getting bigger until he doesn’t need me to do all of the things I love to do for him….well I just don’t know. It’s such a new feeling. Neither sad, nor happy. I suppose it’s just misty and bittersweet.
But, it is also so wondrous to watch him grow and learn and to know that my husband and I created that little, beautiful boy. It’s a blessing and a miracle and I am thankful everyday.
I thought on this as I worked on a pair of socks for my dad. Knitting is meditative.
This sock pattern is from Patons and is the Basic Fine Sock. It’s my go-to for socks because it’s so simple and super easy to adapt to almost any style and yarn. Here I’m using Knit Picks Swish DK yarn in Serrano and Cobblestone Heather on size 2 DPNs.
I also finished my Desolation Cable Legwarmers!
I am really pleased with the picot edging on the top cuff (which was the idea of my best friend who knit these along with me—and actually finished way before me).
If you’re interested in the pattern, I have a bit of errata for you. I actually think I mentioned it in the previous post on these little beauties.
OK, that’s all for now friends. Have a lovely weekend!
